Brewery Spotlight: St. George Brewing Co.

St. George Brewing Co. is one of the oldest micro breweries in the Commonwealth of Virginia, having started in 1998. They pioneered a lot of the craft brewery scene in Hampton Roads and Coastal Virginia by being one of the founding members of the Virginia Craft Brewers Guild.

With brews like a seasonal Oktoberfest, porters, brown ales, and IPAs, they have something to appeal to any beer enthusiast’s taste buds. Outside of those usual suspects of craft breweries, they also hold some more unique brews that can only be found at St. George’s such as Larry’s Lemonade, a popular malt beverage styled to taste like a refreshing glass of lemonade. Or you can try their award-winning Honey Meade Lager, beer made from the honey that is harvested onsite.

St. George Brewing Co. is named after the myth of St. George of Lydda, a legendary 3rd century Roman soldier who became the English patron saint of chivalry. The stories of George inspired countless kings of Europe and now inspire the ales and lagers you can find at St. George Brewing Co.
